An Oasis On Boulevard René-Lévesque Est
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 5 nights. One of the many strengths of Auberge aux Deux Lions is its staff and owners. Philip at Reception was incredibly helpful and provided us with valuable information and guidance during our stay. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, and it was a pleasure to chat with them. José Luis would pay us a visit every morning during breakfast.
The breakfast here is amazing – it is continental in nature but offers plenty of variety and is good value for the money (breakfast is not included in the daily room rate). The croissants made by Philippe are absolutely fantastic!! The Breakfast room is very inviting and the entire hotel has a calm feel to it. Very quiet building as well; we heard no room-to-room sound transfer.
Our room was very cozy (was one of the stone wall rooms in the lower level of the hotel), and the WiFi was exceptionally strong and stable. We did not find the hotel’s distance too far from the old city.
There are plenty of restaurants on the neighbouring streets, especially on Avenue Cartier which is just a couple of minute’s walk. For something quick, there’s a Tim Hortons just across the street and a well-stocked Couche-Tard (convenience store) around the corner. Bank ATMs are close by.
